Eternity Christian Church is all about...
 

Learning how to receive God's love... Learning to love Him back with all our strength and all of our crazy hearts... and (when we are saturated in this love) learning to love others in like measure....

Our vision/mission statement:
 

Christian community impacting Sydney and beyond with God's reality.


                                                                   
Our vision statement flows from five Biblical purposes:

- Worship - Discipleship - Fellowship - Service - Outreach.

                                                                   
Or, as we often say, Eternity exists to:

exalt, edify, encourage, equip and engage.

Here's how these purposes are expressed through our vision statement:

1. God's reality - it all begins with encountering the grace, truth and reality of God in worship.
2. Christian community - this flows through the church as we connect through fellowship and discipleship.
3. Impacting Sydney & beyond - and continues to flow to our neighbours and the nations as we share and serve the crazy love of our Heavenly Father.

Christian community involves sharing our lives with Jesus and one another. Christian community impacts our city because it displays a radically different way to live and embraces people with God's love, whether they identify themselves as part of the church or not.

In practical terms, community takes different forms at Eternity. It includes the larger corporate gathering of Sunday and smaller groups throughout the week.

These work together in a natural, informal, yet dynamic process of relationship and love. A committed member of Eternity could expect to be enthusiastically involved in each of these areas.

Paul's heart-felt declaration to the Thessalonian Christians captures our 2008 ChangeMakers theme 'Sharing Our Lives':

"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us." (1 Thessalonians 2:8)

Our theme for Eternity and ChangeMakers in 2012 is 'Hearts of Fire'.



Hearts of Fire is about...

                      ...having our hearts set ablaze as we encounter Jesus,
                                    allowing Him to forge fresh vision, faith and joy
                                                            ...for the mission ahead...

"Didn't we feel on fire as he talked wit us on the road, as he opened up the Scriptures for us?"
